Andrea Isabel

I'm a bilingual science communicator and public health researcher working to bridge the gap between science and science-skeptic Latine communities. Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, I draw from my experience as a Boricua with a Protestant background to create culturally grounded strategies that promote healthier decision-making. With over a decade of experience in community-based research, science communication, and project management, my work focuses on building trust, especially among conservative and religious audiences, by exploring how faith and culture shape perceptions of science.

I'm currently a Public Engagement with Science Strategist at Ciencia Puerto Rico and a PhD student in Science Communication at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where I study the intersections of science, health, culture, and faith.
